This page describes what the DashPoint point-of-sale application stores and what it sends when a payment is taken. It describes this software, not any other site or service you may reach from it.
No accounts, no analytics
DashPoint has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts. It sets no advertising or analytics cookies and loads no third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising code. It does not build a profile of you and does not sell or share data with anyone for marketing purposes.
What is stored, and where
Terminal settings are saved in your browser's local storage on the
device itself, under the key dashpoint.config.v1.
These settings are the store name, the display currency, the tip percentages, and the
DASH payout address the merchant has configured. They stay on the device. They are not
uploaded to DashPoint, and no server keeps a copy of them.
Because the settings live in the browser, clearing site data removes them.
What is sent when a payment is taken
To price a sale and produce payment instructions, the app sends the chosen payment asset and the amount to the DashPoint API. The DASH payout address configured by the merchant is sent with that request so the funds can be delivered to the merchant. The API does not store this address; it holds no payout address of its own.
The DashPoint API forwards the swap request to 1Click, the swap
service operated at 1click.chaindefuser.com, which
arranges the conversion into DASH. That request necessarily includes the asset and
amount you are paying, the DASH payout address, and a refund target. 1Click's own
handling of that information is governed by its terms, not by this page.
Refunds are issued to a NEAR Intents account held by the operator when you do not supply an address on your own chain. If you do supply one, refunds go there instead.
What is never collected
- No name, email address, postal address, or phone number.
- No government identifiers, and no date of birth.
- No bank, card, or other payment-method details. Payments settle in cryptocurrency.
- No precise location data, and no address book or contacts.
- No passwords. There is nothing to sign in to.
Public blockchains
Payments are made on public blockchains. A blockchain records transactions permanently and openly, so the addresses and amounts involved in a payment are visible to anyone who looks, independently of DashPoint. This is a property of the networks, not a choice DashPoint makes, and it cannot be undone by deleting anything here.
The terminal you used
The merchant operating the terminal you used is responsible for the sale itself, including what they do with the funds received and any records they keep. Direct questions about a purchase to that merchant.
